Welcome to the South Shore Eagles Youth Hockey League. Our goal is to teach young people the FUNdamentals of youth hockey.

My my My my
Letter from the President

They say time flies when you are having fun! As I enter into my 6th year as President, I am so excited and proud of the progress that this program has made both on and off the ice. We have grown over 150% in player enrollment, gone from 8 teams to over 15, developed a strong foundation with our Learn To Play Hockey programs, partnered with the Boston Bruins and their Little Bruins development program for the past 3 years, earned USA Hockey's gold status for 4 years with our attendance in Try Hockey For Free events enrolling over 80 children at each session, won several tournament and conference championships and most recently named The Program of the Year by the South Shore Conference! We are beyond thrilled that all the hard work in our player development and program development has paid off. Congrats to everyone for being part of this amazing success!!!
To give you a little background on myself, having grown up in Rockland playing for the South Shore Eagles, I am excited to now have my daughter and son playing in the program and excited to be involved in youth hockey again. I have been playing hockey for over 30 years and continue to play in men’s recreational leagues and getting the other coaches together for a pick up game (hey we need to have some fun too!). I played Div. 1 Women’s Hockey at Brown University where we won several ECAC and Ivy League titles. I was a two-time captain and still stand 4th all-time on the Brown Women’s Ice Hockey Point Leader board. I was fortunate enough to play for the USA National Team and was selected to participate in the first ever 1998 US Women's Olympic Training Camp. I have also served as the Brown Women’s Ice Hockey Asst. Coach for three years, traveling throughout the US and Canada, watching many hockey games, recruiting players and attending USA National development camps. I have participated and run many hockey camps for boys and girls of all ages over the years. I began with the Eagles over 6 years ago as Instructional Director and have been coaching Mites through U14 girls since.

Call it peer pressure or call me a fool, but I am honored to be the SSE President. We have a great group of people on the Board and we are dedicated to making this program a success. We continue to grown and evolve and push each other to give the kids a better experience each day they step on the ice.  I think that says a lot for the dedication and excitement we all have for the game of hockey! A lot of improvements have been implemented behind the scenes but are extremely crucial to running a successful organization. Our Fundraising and Tournament Committees are in full swing providing exciting and new offerings to our Eagles family. We have brought our player and goalie skills in-house under the direction of USA Hockey and most recently utilizing the learnings from Weiss Tech Hockey systems. We have a strong partnership with Brian Eklund goaltending skills and provide our goalies the best training. Our coaching staff has grown significantly from a few volunteers and hockey "dads" to former college and hs players with a strong desire to teach these children and young adults the fundamentals of the game. It takes an army and I am confident that we have the right staff in place at all levels to give these kids the best hockey experience possible.

We have a great group of kids, but we need everyone’s participation to get this program and each player to the next level. Come to the rink with a good attitude, give it your all and have fun! This sport is too expensive to just be a spectator, so give 100% on and off the ice. Show up to skills, show up to practice, not just the games. Ask yourself "do you want to play hockey, or be a hockey player?" There is a big difference which resonates with each child differently. These rinks have become our second homes. Not quite the vacation home that you probably had envisioned, but nonetheless, this is what we do for our kids. We all sacrifice a lot by being involved in this sport, so I ask for your full cooperation to represent this program with pride and with a positive attitude!!!

Looking forward to meeting you all and see you at the rink!!
